DC Universe Classics: Wave 15

DC Universe Classics Wave 15 has arrived! Which begs the question: What happened to wave 14? Oh, right, Mattel. There you go.

Initially available at Kmart (yeah, right), comic shops are now starting to receive their shipments of wave 15. Apparently, some comic shop assortments are coming packed with either the standard version of Martian Manhunter or the variant, but not both. Same goes for Starman; Ted or Jack, but not both shipped at once. I ended up with the variant Manhunter and the more modern incarnation of Starman. Hopefully, the two variants will continue to circulate so everyone can obtain their preferred version of each character (or so they can be obsessive, like me, and pick up both versions). Also of interest, the second fan choice figure, Raven, debuts in this wave. Currently, she's my favorite figure from wave 15.

Look forward to overviews of the DC Universe Classics Wave 15 figures, starting with Golden Pharaoh of Super Powers fame, coming soon! Warped limbs, sloppy paint, and all!

DCUC Showcase: Blue Beetle (III)

In my last post, I mentioned that I was going to resume posting DCUC wave 13 overviews in June. I lied. So...

Coming up next, another figure from DCUC's wave 13: Blue Beetle!

Where has the time gone?!

Apparently, my last post was on May 12. Whoops! Time seems to have sneered and sashayed away from me. Life has been busy. I'll resume the DCUC overviews soon with the remainder of the wave 13 figures, continuing with Blue Beetle, and onward! It feels good to be back.

DCUC Showcase: Cyclotron

Another figure from wave 13! It's Cyclotron! So, who's Cyclotron? Exactly.

DCUC Showcase: Superboy

Continuing on with wave 13 of the DC Universe Classics, I'll be taking a look at Superboy. This was the figure I was least interested in from wave 13, but he has grown on me a bit. I don't know if it's the lame costume or the goofy glasses, but he just doesn't do anything for me. Nevertheless, it's nice to have a new Superman character in the line.

Join Superboy and me as we go back in time and party like it's 1993, ugly costume and all. Read on to find out what I think about Superboy!

DCUC Showcase: Negative Man

Wave 13 of the DC Universe Classics has arrived! Today, I'll be taking a look at Negative Man, a new addition to the Doom Patrol. It seems like I have been waiting for this wave for a long time. My LCS continues to come up with the goods. They received the full wave, so I was able to pick up the entire set in one trip. I missed out on the Negative Man variant, but I was able to get my hands on both versions of Cheetah, which I'll review soon, along with the rest of the wave.

DC Universe Classics Showcase: Kryptonite Chaos

Another DCUC two-pack with DCSH re-releases! This time we have Supergirl and Lex. Necessary two-pack? Probably not, but I wanted it anyway. Some collectors have reported easy findings of this pack, but I wasn't able to even catch a trace of it when it was first released. Here's to persistence!

Figuring It Out

Welcome to Action Figured Out!

An opinionated toy collector with some free time: blogger? Indeed. I've decided to start a blog to detail my toy life, ranging from new acquisitions to desires to blaming companies for their incompetence and more. That being said (or, well, typed), I'll introduce myself.

Online, I usually go by the user name Sekmet. And no, not as a tribute to the Egyptian warrior cat goddess. I've been a toy collector my whole life, with interests in all sorts of plastic products. I grew up with Barbie, Batman, and a bevy of other toys. Currently, Mattel's DC Universe Classics and Masters of the Universe Classics lines are my most prominent interests (perhaps against my better judgment).

I'm new to the blog scene (or whatever it is) and looking forward to oozing my jaded insight all over Action Figured Out.

Questions? Comments? Life struggles? Feel free to drop me a comment, or email me at sekmet@prodigy.net, if you are so inclined.

Enjoy AFO!
